The Dwelling of Reps yesterday waded into the ongoing controversy involving the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) and Intels Nigeria Confined.

However, he mentioned, NPA terminated the agreement in a letter to the Legal professional General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN), on September 27, expressing the action was dependent on an alleged illegality of the settlement.
The motion, the lawmaker mentioned, has negative implications on the Nigerians working at Intels and their dependents.
In supporting the movement, Sergius Ogun (PDP, Edo), said the Household have to intervene in the issue as Intels team were being previously protesting at the ports.

Rep Aliyu Sani Madaki (APC, Kano), explained Intels’ refusal to pay back the gathered income to the authorities coffers via the Treasury Single Account (TSA) went opposite to Segment 81 of the constitution which offers that “all revenues or other monies designed on behalf of authorities shall be paid to an account regarded as the Consolidated Earnings Account of the Federation.”
But Speaker Yakubu Dogara responded by declaring there is nowhere in the entire world that monopoly is an offence, indicating “some enterprises are better carried out in a monopolistic setting.”
